In this project, the client is the Government of Meghalaya. The government wanted to launch The North Eastern Region Capital Cities Development Investment Program (NERCCDIP) to bring urban development in North Eastern Region (NER) like Agartala, Aizwal, Gangtok, Kohima, and Shillong. The government of Meghalaya also formed the State Investment Project Management and Implementation Unit especially in Shillong.

District magistrate of Darjeeling wants to be desirous of building a Web Based GIS System. The system is aimed to be a comprehensive GIS System which would run over the internet / intranet without additional installation on the client machines. This is aimed at wide spread usage of the system. The GIS system will be able to take Input data in the form of latitude and longitude, and other details like information, picture of the Installations, which are provided by the client.

To have a complete system in place we are required to primarily generate base maps which will have the primary data on which the entire system would run. Subsequently a Web GIS Software is required to be developed which can host the base maps and further information as it comes from the client.
